How is it made and what is in it

Welcome to this website. In the past years I have devoted my attention to the process of making, and learning through making. These days we accept things in our surroundings as how they are brought to us, but we do not know where they come from and how and why they have the shape in which we get them. By investigating thoroughly, I try to learn more about materials, what do they consist of, how do you work them, how are they made (I myself now confuse a material and a product)? The aim of this website is not only for self study, the internet is a platform that liberates information and I see this project as a way to open up the vast library that exists on materials, craft and processes. This will not only offer the possibility for people to work on buildings them selves but hopefully give people a better understanding about materials which will lead towards more respect to them.

This does not mean however that I do not believe in knowledgeable builders, craftsmen and architects. Their knowledge is of high value and should not be underestimated. Thier training and skill help to make better buildings and contribute to the cultural body of the build environment.
